The Paint Correction Process

1. Washing and Decontamination: Vehicle is thoroughly washed to remove dirt, grime, and contaminants from the surface. This may involve using clay bars or decontaminants to remove embedded particles that can cause scratches during correction.

2. Assessment: Before starting the paint correction process, the condition of the vehicle’s paint is assessed. This includes identifying swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, water spots, and other defects.

3. Paint Thickness Measurement: A paint thickness gauge is used to measure thickness of the paint on various panels. This step is crucial to determine the amount of material available for correction and avoid the risk of causing damage by removing too much paint.

6. Finishing:: Finishing polishes with even finer abrasives are applied to refine the surface to achieve a high level of gloss. This step helps eliminate any haze or micro-marring caused by previous polishing stages.

7. Prevention of Wear and Tear: After correction, it’s essential to protect the newly restored paint. This involves applying a protective layer, such as wax, sealant, or ceramic coating, to shield the paint from contaminants, UV rays, and to enhance the shine.
